You lost the trail hours ago, and now the shadows lengthen as the sun creeps toward the crown of a nearby hill. A murder of crows startles from a giant grotesque oak tree in front of you, wheeling into the purpling sky. You shiver, whether from the sudden chill in the air or the silence of the tree frogs you know not. Hurrying, rushed now, you stumble into the thicket, the barbed thorns clutching at your sweater. It rips, hanging off your frame like ragged flesh. The momentum hurls you as if from a coiled spring into a bed of soft ferns. The last burst of sunlight slips behind the hilltop, and the shadowed woods fall into total darkness.
You look up and see Her, shining with the brightness of Her glory, your blood burning within you as leap toward Her, your dying brain thinking only of being with Her, and you turn in midair, laughing, dead, as the mocking moon shines down on you.
Sticks is an original card game set in the haunted woods, where finding your way out is the only way to survive. With art by Simon Buckroyd, Vaggelis Ntousakis, and Eric Quigley and an original story by Rob Eiben, Sticks combines a richly illustrated narrative with innovative cardplay. Achievements allow the player to unlock bonus cards that increase the chance of escape from the woods.
